A password is optional in Bridge Unlocked. The email link always works, with or without one; a password is simply a second way in for the days you prefer it.

You can set a password the day you join, or any time afterwards. Neither choice is final.

When joining: on the welcome screen, choose the password option and type one in.

Already have an account? Open your account’s Sign-in and security page from Settings.

Set or change your password there. Changing it takes effect immediately.
Step 4: passwords live on the sign-in and security page. -
From then on, sign in with your email address and password wherever you like. The email link keeps working alongside it.
